| Biography / Administrative History | Capt. Mark William Forward (1816-1887), son of George and Susanna (Taylor) Forward of Carbonear, was born at Carbonear on 6 June 1816. He married Mary Bemister, daughter of William Willis Bemister, on 6 June 1844 in Carbonear. They had 8 children together, including Ernest Edward Forward, Anne Charlotte ''Annie'' (Forward) Boone, John ''Jack'' Bemister Forward and Georgina Eliza ''George'' (Forward) Samways. Mark was captain of the vessel ''William''. He died in Carbonear on 12 January 1887. |
