The
cellars
is
located
in the
barn
and
enter
through
a
hatch
entrance.
It
is
roughly
2.5m
x
4m.
It
has
built
in
pounds
and
is
used
even
today
for the
storage
of
potatoes
,
carrots
,
turnip
, and
cabbage.
It
was
built
in the
1850's
by
Richard
squires.
The
cellar
has been in
continuous
use
since
it
was
built
and
only
undergone
minor
renovations.
These
renovations
included
a
small
extension
, and
adding
concrete
to the
stone
walls
in
1956.
The
barn
above
the
cellar
is
used
for
miscellaneous
garden
and
household
storage.
Barn
has a
second
floor
which
at
one
time
was
used
to
store
hay.
Hatch
is
made
of
chicken
wire
which
serves
as the
only
ventilation.
Originally
it
had a
wooden
chimney
like
structure
that
went
through
the
two
stories
of the
barn
for
ventilation.
