| Description | Root cellar located in Upper Island Cove owned by Graham and Margaret Parsons. Built in early 1900s and was used until the early 1960s. It is no longer maintained and the interior has started to collapse. The Parsons grew carrot, potato, cabbage and parsnip and maintained a herd of cattle. Vegetables were stored in the cellar for consumption by immediate family, which included two parents, two grandparents, and nine children. |
