| Description | Root cellar owned by Andrew and Laura Boland, Outer Cove. Photo taken in January 2003 prior to renovations that took place later the same year. Cellar built into hillside, with three sides surrounded with earth and one side exposed for entrance. A short hallway separates the exterior door from the interior door that opens to the cellar, a space approximately 6.5 m x 7m. A wooden shed is located on top of the cellar, but the hatch entrance was removed during renovations in 2003. New siding, a window and doors were also added at this time. It is currently used to store vegetables, garden equipment and miscellaneous items. |
