DescriptionRoot cellar owned by Tom Lawlor on Portugal Cove Road, St. John's. The cellar was built in approximately 1895 by his grandfather John Lawlor. The cellar is very large measuring at approximately 3.6m x 6.7m with a 2.7m ceiling height. It has a shed structure with a hatch entrance. Cellar has two hatch entrances on either side for ventilation. Originally part of Riverside Farm which in the late 1800's spanned 16 acres. Today it is used to store some vegetables purchased in bulk from local farmers for him and his wife as well as wine which he brews himself.
