TranscriptTHOUGH I was constantly caressed, Slow wave on wave, No infant suckled my salt breast: And I was wracked with every tide; And saw your sail And offered you an ardent bride: O Mariner, forgive those arts, That sensual song, That promised you true woman's parts: An ocean shuddered as we cleaved; Hot flesh, cold fish; A mortal drowned, a Child conceived!
