SummaryDay 3 of the fifth annual Newfoundland Folk Festival continues at the St. John's Curling Club. Opens with a dance session featuring the St. Pats Dancers (step-dancing). Neil Murray hosts "There's a Racket in the Kitchen" and "Havin' a Time" sessions that include performances by Ed Doucette (fiddle) and the two Ron Felixes (guitar and accordion), Marilyn Bensen (tin whistle), Emile Benoit and Rufus Guinchard with Figgy Duff. A ceremony involving the exchange of gifts between provinces of Newfoundand and Labrador and Manitoba, with Hon. Hal Andrews, Minister of Culture, Recreation and Youth; Hon. Norma Price, Minister of Culture, Government of Manitoba; Mr. Ray O'Neil, Deputy Mayor of St. John's; Henry Harvey, President of Newfoundland and Labrador Mulitcultural Society; and Andy Samuelson, President of St. John's Folk Arts Council. Phyllis Noseworthy sings "Oh, Canada".
