Contained in the collection is a privately published book, - "A History of the Thompson Family", several photocopies of photographs, letters, documents and three - tintypes of Thompson family members. Also in the collection is - a piece of cable with a tag bearing the name Cyrus Field. Field was owner of the Atlantic Telegraph - Company, which laid the original trans-Atlantic telegraph cable.
