Scope and Content of FondsThis collection consists of 10 poems written by Gregory J. Power. Eight of the poems were printed, individually, on card stock and published under the title Gems of Newfoundland Poetry by - Newfoundland Book Publishers (1967) Limited, a company owned by Power's lifelong friend and political colleague, Joseph R. Smallwood (1900-1991), former premier of Newfoundland. A ninth poem is printed - but does not appear to be part of the Gems series, while the tenth poem is present in typescript.
