AbstractThis book contains a political history of Europe from the close of the 15th until the 19th centuries. This book divides the centuries into periods, with the first detailing the reign of Louis XIV, the second discussing the Reformation and the rivalry between France and Spain, the third including the origin of the Netherlands and colonial affairs, and the fourth discussing Swedish-Polish seccession in the 17th century. Other chapters discuss the origins of the Northern European States system, the politics of Polish kings, and war in Turkey. Each section includes information on the rulers of each separate State during the period discussed.
