Porter
,
chairman
of the
Royal
Commission
on
Banking
and
Finance
, the
Extension
Department
of
St.
Francis
Xavier
University
presented
a
short
brief
to the
Commission
on the
subject
of its
promotion
of
credit
unions.
Since
the
University
is
frequently
called
upon
to
explain
the
educational
and
sociological
reasons
for this
encouragement
of the
credit
union
movement
,
it
was
felt
that a
useful
purpose
would be
served
by
presenting
in this
form
a
resume
of the
June
,
1962
brief
to the
Royal
Commission.
