DescriptionHenrietta Lushington, nee Prescott, was the daughter of Sir Henry Prescott, Governor of Newfoundland from 1834-41. The collection includes several long poems as well as miscellaneous items and poetry for youth. Though written in Newfoundland, the island as a subject is not predominant, Lushington drawing on nature and world history for inspiration.
