The seasons are presented in order throughout the volume from Spring to Winter, including one poem on winter in her town of Curling (p. 34). In addition, in one particular poem (p. 20) Barrett makes an appeal for funds for a Bay of Islands war memorial.

About the AuthorEna Constance Barrett (1893-1967), born in England, already had published poetry by the time she married John A. Barret of Curling, Newfoundland, in 1920 and moved with him to the island.
