Description	The Newfoundland Almanac contains much detailed information, including: a calendar; nautical intelligence for the year; information relating to public offices, institutions, banks, etc. of the country; and a directory of all towns, villages, and settlements on the island. Many years include an index. Many of them also include advertisements, often indexed at the end of the regular index.

Note	First appearing in 1828, the Newfoundland Almanac was published independently up to 1887, when the government took it over and made it official, changing the title to Year Book and Almanac of Newfoundland.
