DescriptionVolume 3 of 3. This book describes the history of the Hudson's Bay Company in British America, as well as emigration to the colonies. Newfoundland was regarded as a good place to emigrate for those who were "able seamen", but was distinctly unsuitable for farmers (p. 181). The botany, geology, and zoology of Newfoundland are also found in the respective chapters on these subjects.
