DescriptionAn extensive collection of ballads and sea songs gathered in Newfoundland by Elizabeth Greenleaf, began when she spent a year teaching with Sir Wilfred Grenfell's mission in on the Northwest coast of Newfoundland. Greenleaf returned the following summer to continue her task, and once again some time later with Grace Yarrow Mansfield on a folklore expedition from Vassar College to Newfoundland.
