DescriptionThis report, thought to have been written by Bonavista merchant and Justice of the Peace John Bland, was commissioned by government to provide details on the most recent interactions of guides and furriers with the aboriginal peoples of Newfoundland, including the now extinct Beothuks. It is noteworthy that J.P. Howley made no mention of the material in this document in his endeavor to publish all available information on the Beothuks.
