Description	This book gives a thorough description of the diseases that have played a major role in Canadian and Newfoundland history, and the physicians who worked to eradicate them. In the second of two volumes, public health in Canada is continued, and is followed by the history of the Canadian province's medical schools and major hospitals, and then a brief history of medicine in Newfoundland. At the time the book was written, Newfoundland was not yet a province of Canada, but a dominion of the British empire, and so it's medical history was not yet to be combined with the rest of Canada's.
