AbstractThis book is a description of the author's journey from Aleppo to the city of Damascus, including descriptions of remarkable places along the way, specifically Marrah, Hama, and Hems. Information on Damascus and the surrounding area is also included, such as descriptions of the walls of the city, the plains of Persia, the springs of Jordan, and the tomb of Muhammed. Other chapters include a discussion of the Maronite nation inhabiting Mount Libanus. The Maronite religion is discussed, as well as its relation to the Catholic church, and comparisons to the religion of the Jacobites. A map of Damascus as well as parts of Syria is also included.
