AbstractThese volumes depict various aspects of the islands of Malta and Goza, including religion, art, and geography. Chapters in the first volume deal predominantly with trade, government, finances, agriculture, and climate of the island of Malta. The second volume includes information on the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem, including chapters on ties to the Christian Church, as well as their government of the island until the French and English conquests in the late 18th century. The third volume discusses the military capabilities of the island of Malta, as well as describing battles in which Malta was involved. There are also several chapters on Napolean Bonaparte and his plans for Malta.
