DescriptionGilt edges. Bevelled boards. Red pebble-grain cloth. Glazed white endpapers and pastedowns which are patterned with rib diagonal grain and moire. Both covers are blocked identically in gold and in relief. A single gold fillet is blocked in gold on the head, the tail and the fore-edge. A pattern of straps is blocked in gold on the sides, the head and the tail, with leaf decoration blocked on each corner. Above and below the centre is a white paper rectangular onlay. Each onlay has double fillets blocked in gold on its borders. The words: '| A WELCOME | TO ALEXANDRA |' are blocked in gold on each onlay. The centre of each cover has a square paper onlay, blocked in gold with an elaborate strapwork pattern, which is shown in relief by the blocking in gold. Gold fillets are blocked on the borders of the square and straps (ending in points) are blocked on each corner. The spine has the title: '| A WELCOME TO ALEXANDRA |' blocked in gold along its length, tail to head.
