Beaton Institute - Ethnocultural Resources Inventory
This digital collection is a selection of items from the Beaton Institute EthnoCultural Resources Inventory. This collection is an annotated list of approximately 800 records including primary unpublished, secondary unpublished, and secondary limited publications. Materials in this collection are from a variety of fonds and collections in the Beaton Institute's holdings, brought together by contract or full-time staff predominately in the 1980's.
The twenty six Series in the collection represent the included ethnocultural groups. In alphabetical order the Series are: African Nova Scotian and/or West Indian, Bohemian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, East Indian, General, German, Greek, Hungarian, Iranian, Italian, Japanese, Jersey, Jewish, Lebanese, Lithuanian, Mi'kmaw, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Swedish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
As time allows, we hope to continue to add to this virtual exhibit promoting some of Cape Breton's under-represented ethnocultural groups.
