Chapters include information on the geography, geology, and local populations of many areas in Cape Breton, such as Sydney, North Sydney and Glace Bay. It also contains a brief history of Cape Breton, in which the Seige of Louisbourg is discussed, as well as the relationship between the English, French, and Micmac populations in the 18th century. The Acadian settlements in Cape Breton are also examined, as well as the growth of the coal industry. Several photographs of Cape Breton in the late 19th century are included within this book.

The involvement of Carthage in the Punic Wars is widely discussed, with information on several key battles and their effects on the city. Information on the topography of the city is also included, with chapters on the city walls, important mosques, and city strongholds. Other chapters include some information on Cartheginian religion and temples devoted to foreign Dieties, as well as its economic relationships with other important city states of the time. The excavation of several Cartheginian ruins is also discussed within this text, as are archaeological finds in several nearby areas such as Utica. Several illustrations are included within this text, most portraying ruins of the city.

Several illustrated maps of the area are also included, as well as a sparse genealogy of the population of Ireland.
