41. Low crowned spoon bonnet, Main Brook
 Low crowned spoon bonnet, Main Brook Baskets; A low crowned spoon bonnet based on an 1862 spoon bonnet. The bonnet is sewn together using commercially bought braided straw. The interior is lined with gathered gold lace. The front edge and crown have picot burgundy trim. The neck edge is trimmed with burgundy bias binding and has a gathered back curtain or "bavolet" that shades the neck and is made from gathered gold lace. The bonnet ties are 1 1/2 inch burgundy ribbon. Made by Helga Gillard, 2002, in Main Brook.

50. 4 Atlantic 'Jump Spark' engine owned by Chuck Donnelly, Heart's Delight 4 Atlantic 'Jump Spark' engine owned by Chuck Donnelly, Heart's Delight Boats; Motorboats; A 4 hp Atlantic 'jump-spark' engine is a close relative of a make and break engine. The operating mechanism is the same with the acception of the ignition. A jump-spark engine has a spark plug which supplies energy and has no battery pack like a make and break engine would need to give spark.

Note that the engine is mounted on an engine bedding with wheels for easy movement. This engine weighs around 170lbs and is the smallest of the Acadia engines.

Note the piece of wood in the flywheel - most fishermen removed the brass pin that came with the engines for starting them. They had a history of the spring breaking so that the pin would not retract upon starting. This brass pin caused many men to break hands, arms, or, in some cases, legs.
