This area was traditionally owned by the Roche's who built fishing stages here after marriage into the Nash family. The land was also used to dry fish during the salt cod fishery. Henrys Beach is still used to haul up boats and tend to fishing gear.

Boys playing football in the Landwash Boys playing football in the Landwash Entertainment and recreation; The Landwash is a natural playground for the young who play in the sand and waves and explore the bordering tidal pools when the sand is in. Children are brave enough to swim in the less-than-warm North Atlantic waters, but adults can be persuaded to cross out into the waves and relive the delights of childhood belly laughter. The Landwash water is warmest in late summer and early fall. It is said that the Virgin Mary heats up the water by dropping in the stone on July 15.

Branch River flows toward the Place Branch River flows toward the Place Entertainment and recreation; Fishing; Landscape; Branch River, known locally as the River, flows fourteen miles from its headwaters and branches at its mouth in the heart of Branch. Oral tradition has it that Thomas Nash was lured to Branch partly by salmon in the River. Today, Branch River is a licensed river popular among local and visiting anglers.

The Baccalieu Trail Heritage Corporation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and protecting the heritage of the Baccalieu Trail Region. This project includes memories of living and working in the area, going to school, children’s games, home remedies, the first modes of transportation, supernatural beliefs, traditional industries and calendar customs and celebrations. This interview is with Frank Brazil of Spaniard's Bay, NL. The interviewer is Kelly Snow. The camera was operated by Linda Cooper. The video was edited by Mike Ryan and Darrell Barrett.
