The half title is printed in olive. Coral, dark green and pale green marbled wrappers with brown pastedown and indigo free endpapers. There are two variant bindings: red, green and blue marbled endpapers with brown pastedown and indigo free endpapers; green, orange, sand, and black marbled wrappers with orange pastedown and purple free endpapers. Eighty-four copies, of which forty were bound. Christmas 1979.

The poem is printed in alternating lines of lime green and black. Forty bound copies. Bound in beige, blue, and black patterned wrappers, with a paper label printed in black pasted on a green label, 3.1 x 9 cm, pasted on the wrappers. Black pastedown with burnt orange free endpapers. The binding is one of three variant bindings, the other two being: beige, gold and black (or green, white, and black) patterned wrappers. There is also a variant label, in burnt orange. Christmas 1977.

Most of the eight poems are illustrated with a wood engraving printed below or opposite: a leaf, in dark gold, is printed on the title page above the imprint; 'Poplar' with a leaf, in green, printed below; 'Beech' with two leaves and the sun, in dark orange, printed on the leaf opposite; 'Maple'; 'Willow' with a leaf, in yellow, and a pool of water in dark green, printed below; 'Arboretum' with a leaf, in dark green, printed below once on each of two pages; 'Birch' with a leaf and the sun, in yellow, printed below; 'Elm'; 'Apple' with leaves in green superimposed on a sunburst, in orange, printed on the leaf opposite; a leaf, in brown, printed opposite the colophon. The half title is on the front free endpaper. The title on the title page is printed in purple, as are the titles of the poems and the title of the colophon. The 'GP' printer's device, in green, is printed below the colophon. The binding is quarter black buckram with brown, green, and coral marbled paper covered boards. A variant binding also exists: quarter black buckram with green and white marbled paper covered boards. This copy lacks the white paper label printed in green and black that is pasted on the spine of some copies. Purple pastedown with brown, green, and violet free endpapers. Sixty numbered copies of which this is numbered I.

Variant pastedowns and endpapers also exist: indigo pastedown with olive and indigo free endpapers; and olive pastedown with indigo and olive free endpapers.
