1.	Richard Outram: A Passion for Poetry		Outram, Richard Daley, 1930-2005--Interviews; Poetry	An interview with Richard Outram conducted by Michael Enright, originally broadcast on the CBC radio program "Sunday Edition" (Hour 3) on 7 April 2002. The interview flows through various topics, from Outram's early years working for the CBC to influences such as Northrop Frye and the natural world, and includes Outram's reading of four of his poems. Several key points that come through in the interview include: the importance of perfecting one's language; that extensive reading has been critical to the creation of his poetry; and that both the reading and teaching of poetry in school must not be lost. The interview concludes with Outram's hope that the poet may find a degree of "forming influence" for the better in the world.

2.	2002. TUNDRA SWANS	Before the sun unsaid		One sheet folded in half horizontally. Immediately above the three-stanza poem the title appears in red upper-case letters. At the head and foot of the poem is an abstract design of squares and rectangles, the upper in relief, the lower in bold. The whole is surrounded by a rectangular triple fillet in red. The reverse side, in addition to the colophon, contains a note indicating that the design is the last of Barbara Howard's contributions to The Gauntlet Press. Christmas 2002. The ornaments are from the font family Arts & Crafts Dingbats.

3.	2002. SILENCE IN PORT HOPE	Trains and more trains crash	Remembrance Day (Canada)--Poetry	One sheet, 22 x 28 cm. Title of Poem is in red and immediately below it, printed in black is: '(Remembrance Day 2002)'. Poem is printed in black. Immediately below poem is the handwritten signature, in black ink: 'Richard Outram'. At the foot of the page, handwritten in black ink, is the inscription: '(We were together at the Cenotaph, Beside the Town Hall~R.)'

4.	2002 (?). AFTERNOON ON THE LAKE	LIGHT as the effortless light honed on the water, a just		One sheet of white paper, 22 x 28 cm. Title of poem is printed in upper case, in aquamarine. Poem is printed in black, save the first word, which is capitalized and rubricated. Above the title is a double-scroll shaped printer's ornament (from the font 'Beautiful Ornaments Three'), in violet. Below the poem is: 'Richard Outram', in aquamarine. Immediately below is the same printer's ornament, but smaller, in red. At the foot of the page is a note about the poem's previous publication in Toronto Life, in violet.

5.	2001. THE GREAT PERCHERONS OF HEAVEN DESCEND TO PLOUGH THE BATTLEFIELDS OF PEACE	Where my dismounted father, on Hill 60	War casualties--Poetry; Fathers--Poetry	One sheet 28 x 22 cm. Poem's title is printed in upper case, in violet. The poem is printed in black. Immediately below is a stylized poppy flowerhead, in red. Beneath that is a rectangle containing a cluster of trees, in blind, against a violet background. The colophon is immediately below, in red and black: \| 'In Remembrance \| November 11, 2001' \| 'Barbara & Richard Outram \| The Gauntlet Press' \| . Around the whole is a triple-fillet rectangular border, in red. Botanical images are from the font family Arts & Crafts Dingbats.

6.	2001. PRISONER	Injustice showed you more	Children--Poetry; Prisons--Poetry; Wilde, Oscar, 1854-1900--Poetry	One sheet, 22 x 28 cm. Title of Poem is printed in upper case, in green. Poem is printed in black. Below the poem is a triangle blocked in rose, within which an abstract design is blocked in relief. Immediately below this is 'RICHARD OUTRAM' in upper case, in peacock blue, with a horizontal erasure-mark through it in blue ink and below it, hand-written, the name 'Richard'. Above the poem's title is a rectangle blocked in violet, within which an abstract design is blocked in relief. The third and fourth lines of the poem are a quotation from from a letter to The Daily Chronicle newspaper about the incarceration of children that Oscar Wilde wrote after his own release from Reading prison in 1897. The ornaments used on this broadside both come from a font called "ArtDeco."

7.	2001. MIDSUMMER LOVERS	What is it in the fountained elm		One sheet 28 x 22 cm. Poem's title is printed in upper case, in burgundy. The poem is printed in black, superimposed on a background of a swirling foliage 11.5 x 5.5 cm, in green. Colophon, immediately below: \| Barbara and Richard Outram \| The Gauntlet Press \| CHRISTMAS \| 2001 \| , in burgundy except for the word CHRISTMAS, in green. Around the whole is a triple-fillet rectangular border 2.8 x 19.4 cm, consisting of an inner and outer fillet, both in aquamarine, and between them a fillet in blue. The foliage is generic and taken from the font family VenusFlytrap-Dingbats.

8.	2001. LIGHTFALL			Inkjet-printed book, 18 unfolded sheets gathered making 36 pages, 26 x 18 cm. Limited edition of 40 copies of which this is copy 20. With 26 poems: 'Seldom,' 'Morning star,' 'Amanda Immortal,' 'Goneril backstage,' 'The beauty of Lear’s daughters,' 'A prayer to Aphrodite Pandemos,' 'The accuser as entropy,' 'Torture,' 'Lions on the horizon,' 'Quicksilver,' 'Triptych,' 'Catch,' 'Seadog dead sober,' 'Phoenix in ashes,' 'Riddle of Wound,' 'And prevailed not,' 'Wormwood,' 'Amanda cast vestal,' 'Amanda off-book,' 'Amanda, and cello, distant,' 'Amanda abed,' 'That night in the field,' 'A particular grace,' 'Carnal,' 'The angel of glass bevel,' 'Mirror of meaning.' Title page has the title ‘LIGHTFALL’ in red, below it a single horizontal line in red and below that ‘RICHARD OUTRAM’ in aquamarine. Beneath that is a vertical sequence of three spiral designs, the largest, in gold, at the top, the second largest, in blue, below it; and the smallest, in red, at the bottom of the sequence. At the foot of the page is: ‘THE GAUNTLET PRESS’ in aquamarine, below which is ‘TORONTO’ in aquamarine and below that: ‘MMI’ in red. The titles of the poems are each printed in red. A number of poems also have subtitles in aquamarine. Below each poem is a spiral design similar to those on the title page. These are coloured variously in blue, purple, pink, saffron, red, green, yellow or aquamarine. Binding is of handmade Japanese paper decorated with a sequence of overlapping multicoloured undulations composed of thin bands of red, pale blue, pink, black and purple. The colours are outlined and flecked with gold.

9.	2001. INCARNATE	Death shall come in vain	Death--Poetry	One sheet, 28 x 30 cm. Title of poem is in upper case, in red. Poem is printed in black. Immediately below is a stylized aster ornament forming a square. The whole is surrounded by a rectangular border consisting of squares with a design resembling four anchors joined at the centre, blocked alternately in coral and violet. St. Valentine's Day 2001. The central ornament is from 'Printers' Ornaments Two'. The border ornament is from 'Beautiful Ornaments Three'.

10.	2001. FUNAMBULIST	I work on a slender strand	Acrobats--Poetry; Aerialists--Poetry; Tighrope walking--Poetry	One sheet, 22 x 28 cm.Title of poem is printed in italics, in red. Poem is printed in black. Immediately below is the attribution: \| 'from \| TURNS And Other Poems\| London: Chatto & Windus \| with the Hogarth Press, 1976 \| ', in black except for the title, in aquamarine. Above the poem's title is an annulet blocked in gold, within which is a design of stalks of wheat bending as if before the wind. At the foot of the page, handwritten in black ink, is the sentence: "Of all the poems that wrote [sic] to Barbara, this perhaps remained her favourite ~ Richard'. The ornament used on the broadside is from a font called 'Japanese Designs.'

11.	2001. AUBADE	Between the opened terrace doors, correct		One sheet, 28 x 30 cm.Title of poem is printed in upper case, in burgundy. Poem is printed in black. Immediately below the poem is 'RICHARD OUTRAM', in peacock blue, with a horizontal erasure-mark through it and below it, hand-written, the name 'Richard'. Above the poem's title is a square, blocked in orange; within which is a Moebius strip design blocked in relief; and in eack corner of the square is a tiny square, blocked in relief. The ornament is from the font 'Rennie Mackintosh Ornaments'.

12.	2001 (?). NARCISSUS SKINNY-DIPPING	Bare in the mirror-river with his	Narcissus (Greek mythology)--Poetry	One sheet of white matte-finish paper, 22 x 28 cm. Title of poem is printed upper case in Caslon Open Face; poem is printed in black in the same typeface. Above the title is a circular ornament in which is inscribed a stylized woman's face, in profile; she wears an elegant headdress. This ornament is blocked in green. At the foot of the poem is another ornament: a stylized seascape foregrounded by two palm trees. To each side of the poem is a column of palm-tree ornaments, arranged in pairs of varying colours: from top to bottom, rose, violet, turquoise, brown, gold and red. (All ornaments are from the font 'Art Deco Regular'.) On the reverse of the broadside is the handwritten signature 'Richard Outram', in blue ballpoint ink.

13.	2001 (?). CAPTAIN AMALGAM	Captain Amalgam maintains, that God is an unstoppered bottle		One sheet of white paper, 22 x 28 cm. Title of poem is printed in upper case Oxford, in black. Poem is printed in black. Below the title is a sequence of four seven-petalled flower-head ornaments (from the font 'Pre-Columbian Ornaments One'), of increasing size from left to right; they are blocked in rose, except for the last and largest of them, which is in red. Below this sequence is a mottled turquoise rule, 12.2 cm long. Below it is another sequence of ornaments (from the font 'Woodcut Ornaments'), four sailing vessels arranged in descending order of size from left to right, printed in purple (the largest) and pale violet (the rest) (cf. the sailing-ship ornaments on the Gauntlet-Press broadside 'Of Fiction and Fact'). At the foot of the poem is another seven-petalled flower-head ornament, blocked in red. Below that is another mottled turquoise rule, 5.5 cm long, and beneath that is: 'Richard Outram' in Oxford, black.

14.	2000. MS CASSIE			83 separate broadside sheets, unnumbered. The first four pages consist of: half-title with copyright statement on verso; title page; dedication page; and preface. The body of the work comprises seventy-seven broadsides on papers of various colours, each combining a poem by Richard Outram with a design by Barbara Howard. Some of the broadsides contain additional material on the verso. The last two broadside sheets are blank. An index of the collection's contents by spreads is appended.

16.	2000. AMANDA IMMORTAL; MORNING STAR	AMANDA IMMORTAL: She lay and watched the sun; MORNING STAR: Instant in the ingot		One sheet, 28 x 30 cm. Titles of poems are both in upper case, in red. Poems are printed in black to the left and right of a central floral design on which they are partially superimposed. At the foot of the page is the colophon in red. Christmas 2000. The device on this broadside is from the font 'Printer's Ornaments One'.

17.	2000 (?). SOULS ON A BUS STATION BENCH	What, fifteen, sixteen? Huddled, asleep and crumpled together		One sheet of hot rose paper, 22 x 28 cm. Title of poem is printed in title case Oxford, in burgundy. Below the title, in black, is a quotation from Malory's Le Morte D'Arthur. Poem is printed in black. Below the poem is: 'Richard Outram'in Oxford, burgundy. To the left of the poem, arranged vertically, are three ornaments: two identical drop-shaped ornaments, blocked in blue, each inscribed with five hatched lines terminating in a spiral (from the font 'Pre-Columbian Ornaments Two'); and, between them, a stylized bird (from the font 'Cave Painting Dingbats'), blocked in dark green. To the right of the poem, this pattern of ornaments is repeated, but with a different stylized bird (from the font 'Wildlife'), this one also blocked in dark green.

18.	2000 (?). MIRROR OF MEANING	Who among us wanders, yearning		One sheet of white, matte-finish paper, 22 x 28 cm. Title of poem is printed in upper case, in blue. Poem is printed in black. Above is an ornament, a double-spiral inscribed in an annulet (from the font 'Spirals'), blocked in red. Below the poem is: 'RICHARD OUTRAM', in violet. On the reverse is a two-paragraph quotation from Northrop Frye's, The Return of Eden, Toronto 1967, printed in black with the citation in violet. At the head of the page is an ornament comprising a series of concentric, often subdivided circles and squares (from the font 'ArtDeco Regular'), blocked in orange. The same ornament is reproduced, slightly smaller, at the foot of the page, in blue.

19.	2000 (?). FIT TO BE TIED	Here is a truth, if understood		One sheet of grey-green laid paper, 22 x 28 cm. Title of poem is printed in upper case, in red. Immediately below the title is a horizontal undulating scroll, consisting of three bands, in violet. Poem is printed in black. Between the two stanzas of the poem are two knot figures - the uppermost a Bourchier knot, the lower a figure-eight endless knot - in red. Separating these two figures is a sequence of five horizontal undulating scrolls, in violet. A single undulating scroll, also in violet, appears beneath the poem. Below that is: 'Richard Outram', in red. (The scroll design, and both knot designs, are from the font 'African Ornaments One'.)

20.	2000 (?). AT CLOSE OF EVE	Titania dreams: I tiptoe down before the winter dawn.		One sheet of mottled grey paper, 22 x 28 cm. Title of poem is printed in upper case, in blue.
