" EALING'S" CREW PERISH. ♦ A Terrible* Experience in an Open Boat. The following private messages have lreen received to-day by the Hon. A. M. Mackay, from the cable office at Canso. He has kindly placed them in our bands for publication:— "Nine survivors of the steamer Ealing arrived here yesterday afternoon, having been in an open boat since Monday. The captain and eight others perished. Please wire Wesleyville that Noah Gudger is safe, and will be about in a few days. His good condition is due to exercise of arms peculiar to fishermen. The others are comfortably housed and cared for. The ship struck a ledge about 40 miles west of Canso. The steamer Xewjield is searching for them. Later: Following are the names of the survivors :—Thomas Thomas (second officer). Fred Lindgren (boatswain). Edgar Wilkiusou, Noah Gudger, Johu Peterson. Henry Noble, James Baker. F. E. Nine survivors of the wrecked steamer Ealing have landed at Canso. They were four days without food. Nine of this boat's crew died from exposure. The survivors suffered terribly. The other boat is still missing. James Baker and Noah Gudger (Newfoundlanders) escaped. Earthquakes are being experienced in Teheran.
