Oke ; A-wis- tant Austin Oak—First exhibited on 21st November 1837 : it is a fixed Light has fifteen argand burnera and reflectors showing a steady bright Light from N to S W end by W seaward, elevated above the leavel of the sea 151 feet and can be seeu in fair weather, in rounding the Cage St. Francis or crossing Conception Bay on tht# intervening space between N and S W and by W - on the land Bide tbo light is mora feeble. It is situated in lat 47.42 N and in lon. 53.05 W. Cape Bonavista Light-Situated in lat 48.42 N, loh 52.59 W.la a revolving Light, shewihg alternately every 90 seconds a VVhite and a Red Light. It is produced by sixteen argand bura- ere and. reflectors, bur^s at an elevation about the sea ot 150 feet, and in favourable whether can be seen 30 miles. Il is revolving and shews a brisk flash every 30 seconds—has 12 argand burners and reflectors elevated above the level of the sea 314 feet- situated iu lat46.37 N. and in lon. 53. 30 W. In a favorable state of tho atmosphere it can be seen 36 miles. _, . _, -. Harbor Grace Beach Beacon and Light- First exhibited llth September, 1854 ; stands^on the Point ot Beach at the entrance of Harbor Grace It is a bouble Light, one being placed above the other, preserving that appearence for Rix miles: exceeding thediatenoe up to ten miles, the two Lights appear blended into one In nailing intoWbor Grace with a fair or leading wind, bring the B-och Beacon^to near W. or W. by S, ahd oyfeepftig the Light Or building a little on the starboard bow it will cary you clear of the Bar. on which at low water therr Is not more than 8 feet of water. Green Island Light, at the entrance o Cat- tallna Harbor. Trinity .Bayv-Sittuted in lat 48 30 N. 53.03 W. This is a Fixed White Light burns at an elevation of 92 feet above high water, exhibited every night from sunset to sunrue. and in favourable weather will be seen.trom EN. E. seaward, to S. W. 12 miles. Vessels bound Northward by keeping this Light open with the NorthHead of Catalina until Bonavista Light opens with Cape LeJean. will give the Flowers Rocks an ample berth-or when eoming Irom thc Northward and bound for Catalina, by given the N. Head a moderate berth, you will -clear the Brandies Kocks by steering for Green Island Light o Race Light—Exhibits a Fixed ' , LiKht. tram sunset to suoftae. E, and south to Wes^ The Light is elevated 180 feet above the mean water level ol the sea, and may be seen In v.'ear weather 12 miles from a ship's deck;, The tower is striped red and white vertically. It stands clo e to the old Beacon which has been" cut down. The Lighthouse is ia Lat. 46 2.38. W. Bearings are Magnetic. Var. 24 W. N. B.—A Toll will be levied upon all Vessesl benefiting by this Light Dodding Head k Great Burin Island Lights./— This Light w s put in requisition on the 3rd August 1858, and is exhibiled^every night from sunset to sunrise. It is revolving, catodioptric. of the second order produding a brilliant White Light every minute with intermediate flashes, at intervals ot 20 seconds burning at on elevation of 410 feet above tho level of the sea and In favorable weather can be seen 30 miles—situated in 47<*b.0. North Latitude, 55° 0.5. West Longitude. Offer Wadham Island Light—Waa first exhibited on the 4th October, 1868, and will continue to be lighted every nigbt from sunset to sunrise. The Light is a steady, fixed lens- light burning on a circular Brick Tower 96 feet above the level of tbe sea, and can be seen in a favorable state of tbe atmosphu.ro 12 miles Situated in Latitude 49. 36 Norths-Longitude. 6146 West Baccalieu Island Light.—This L«gbt is exhibited every night from the going away of daylight in the evening to the return of day-light in tho morning. The Position and characteristics o'this Light are as follows:—Baccalieu Light House is situated on the Northern end of that Island, Latitude 48.09 North Longitude 5250 West-the Tower i« of brick, the Keeper's Dwelling a Square Building, detached from tbe Tower painted^white, with the roof red. Tli ri Light is a Catodioptric first class Holo- photal Revolving White Light, shewing a flash every twenty seconds: It is elevated 380 leet above high water and can be seen in clear weather forty natltical miles, and a lesser disaccording to the state of tbe atmosphere. When the Southern end of tbe Island bears N.N.E : tbe Light will n-jt bo visiblo when nearer the Island than eight miles. Cape St. Mary's Light-vWas put in requisition on the 20th September! 1800 ; it,is a Revolving Catodioptric Light of the first order, producing alternately every minute a brilliant Red and - White I<igbt. burningat an elevation of 3$5 feet buve tbe level the sea, and vill be seen in a favourable Btate of atmosphere 30 miles from a vessels'*** deck : situated in 46.49.26 N lat 54.8. 45 lon, West. Tho Tower, Is of brick, and on each side of .which stand the Dwellings of the Keeper and Assistant the sides of which nam painted White, roofs Red. Light Dues—One Shilling per ton on all vessels entering any Port or Harbor of the Colony except Coasting, Sealing, or Fishing Vessels but not to be levied more than onoe a year.— Sealing and Coasting Vessels.—Sixpence per ton on registered vessels of 40 tons and upwards ; Fifteen Shillings per annum on all vessels less than 40 tons. The 19 th of Victoria, Cap. 5, enacts—" That no greater sum than £25 sterling shall he in any year levied for Light Dues on any Steamer or Vessel entering any port ot this Colony ; uud no Steamer plying between Europe and any port ol Norm America, aud entering any port of this Colony as a Port oI Call shall be liable to pay any Light Dues'or other port charges except Pilotage." Placentla, Burin, Harbor Briton, Burgeo oad La i'oile and intermediate places Little rlaoen- tia, Merasheen aod Intermediate places (monthly) on Tuesdays at 4 o'clock p.m., otter the arrival of the Halifax Packet. Bay Bulls and Ferry land, every alternate Wed nesday at 9} o'ciock a m Tiepassey and intermediate places (monthly) on Wednesdays at 9*1 o'clock, commencing on Wednesday the 13th January next.
