IV.—This Society does not insure .gainstnny loss arising from illicit trade or barratry of tfao Master or any of lho crew, or where the Master is accessory to tbo setting lire to tho Vessel under bis command. Ibould a Vessel, descried by her crow eminent danger ef total loss, bo afterwards recovered nnd found on a just appraise- ■usluincd t}amnge to tlie amount of 50 per cent, on ber original valuation, the Owners may abandon to' tbo Society, and if tfao Vessel bo not J a in a god to that amount the Owners shall not abandon, but in inch case tbo Society shall settle with salvors, if any, for their claims on the said Vessel. Tn no cas shsll any-Vessel be abandoned without a sm vey fay competent persons, when practicable, who shall duly certify and declare according to Law that it will require al least 50 per oent. on hag valuation to complete the repairs occasioned by the particular damage aforesaid. Vessels entering in the Spring must bo surroyod beforo tfaey proceed on the Sealing Voyage, und a-^tin pre- I vfons to their sailing on a summer Fishing or Coasting Voyage, Foreign, or' otherwise wiihin tho limits prescribed by these Rules, and in case of a Vessel sustaining damage at any time, she sliall be specially surveyed. It is tfao duty of Surveyors to deliver up their Record Book to tbe Secretary immediately on tl.o surveying time having expired, which is, for Veisels bound on a Spring Sealing Voyage, until the, lust dny of April, and for fishing and coasting only, uutil tbo last day of August, after wliich time no Vessel shall be admitted into tbo Society. Any member of tbe Com ee shall be eligible to act as a Surveyor on a Summer Survey in tba absence of nny of the ordinary Surveyor*. Tbe aervices of the Com denciee to or from any Port or Ports Provinces ol New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, including tbe Island ot Cape Breton, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Montreal, and in tbo United States of America, as far south as Capo Henry, inclusivo; also, to or ft*m any Poi Porta in Great Britain or Ireland, Fn Spain, Portugal, and the Mediterranean, (not higher tban Naples), Hamburg, Copenhagen, the Islands of Alderney, Jersey, Guernsey, Sark, and Mnn, tho West India Island* and the Port, of Denieran from 8 a.m. ofthe Fiiat day of March, until of the Fifth day of Deceiufaer; and vessels admitted for the summer only, frjm 8 A.M. of the Kth day ul April, until noon of tho Fifteenth day of Deccinfaer. (Adopted at a Sleeting of Ship-Owners held
nt tho Brigais Tavern on Saturday, the
16th doy of February, A.D., 1879.
I_This Society shall consist ol all such Owners or legal representatives of such Oavners of
registered decked Vessels belonging to tbat part
of Conception Bay. 1st—As well within
limits, tbnt is to siy, from Holy Bond
Roberts, both inclusive. 2nd—As without audi
limits us bereiiinlter provided, employed iu the
Trade, and Fisheries of tliis Islam), who shall,
fay themselves or ibeir Agents, subscribe and
conform lo tfae Rules hereinafter mentioned, for

and aa soon as can be aftor tbe loss. Expenses
ol nil documents to bo borne fay the Owner, the
special Surveyors in all ctaee of Survey to make
the neceaaary declaration according to law.
VII.—The duty of tbe Secretary fdiall be,
after receiving the Surveyor's report, to notify
the Commitieeo to value tfae Vessel proposed for
admission or to reject tbn same; bo shall deliver
tbe Owner or Broker a cortiticato of her hnving
been received, stating the sum thoy value lier

III.—Eacb Member shall underwrite on each
particular Vessel tfae Valuation at which sue is
entered in the Society nnel faear reciprocally the
proportions of any total loss tfaat may liapj
whether at sea or in port, arising from tho
winds, urua, rocks, shouls, ico and nil other
dangers and accidents ol navigation,
from lightnings, tiie, e-i.iniis, pirates,
provided tbo Master fans done fais duty lo pro-

tlio Hull, Tackle, and apparel of tlio Vessel (if
the Vessel bc stranded at tho time of such partial loas, but not otherwise), excluding all claims
for losses in cases of jettison or genera! average

nmotint to 15 per cent, on tbe Committee's
Valuation, where that Valuation shall amount
to Fivo Hundred Pounds, and as shall with Uie

Fivo Hundred Pounds. A majority of the
wholo Committee aro empowered to entertain
claim* for utiuiidiiig, tbat may not amount to
lft or 25 por cent, as above. No member
shall be. accountable tor more than bis own Vessel or Vessels' pro'iortion ol nny loss tfaut may
happen, nnl Ior all contriliiitions reeiuired undor
tbis rule, tlio Society and particular claimant
shall have n lien on eacb Vessel for her Owner's
respective proportion of nil losses.
IV.—This Society does not insure .gainstnny
loss arising from illicit trade or barratry of tfao
Master or any of lho crew, or where the Master
is accessory to tbo setting lire to tho Vessel under bis command.
Ibould a Vessel, descried by her crow
eminent danger ef total loss, bo afterwards recovered nnd found on a just appraise-
■usluincd t}amnge to tlie amount
of 50 per cent, on ber original valuation, the
Owners may abandon to' tbo Society, and if tfao
Vessel bo not J a in a god to that amount the
Owners shall not abandon, but in inch case tbo
Society shall settle with salvors, if any, for
their claims on the said Vessel. Tn no cas
shsll any-Vessel be abandoned without a sm
vey fay competent persons, when practicable,
who shall duly certify and declare according to
Law that it will require al least 50 per oent. on
hag valuation to complete the repairs occasioned
by the particular damage aforesaid.
VI.—In all coses of wreck it shsll bo tbe duty
of 'lie Master and crew to uso every possible effort to save tbe Hull and materials; and in tbe
event of a total lon tbe Owner or'Master shall
call in two or more special Surveyors (Members
ol tbe Society if possible), and if deemed advisable by the Surveyors and Master, nnless other-

case of a Vessel sustaining damage at any time,

time having expired, which is, for Veisels bound
on a Spring Sealing Voyage, until the, lust dny
of April, and for fishing and coasting only, uutil

Surveyors ahull be deomed hufiicient for'n second
or Summer Survoy. Should tho Surveyor* bc

covered fay tho Society, nor shall sbo sail, nor

X.—This Socioty shall not insure any one,
