MEMORANDA.
S. S. " Rhiwindda, " Gyles, of andfrom Cardiff,
bound to New York, reports, on 12th inst.. about
400 miles East of St. John's, fell in with- the S. S.
"Richmond "of London, from Liverpool, bound
to Galveston, Texas, with machinery, disabled;
took her in tow and arrived at this port Aug. 15.
Brigt. " Mary," Captain Collins, from Sydney,
reports, on 12th inst., when about 30 miles N.N.E.
Cape St. Mary's, was ran into during dense fog by
Schooner, " Marie Catherina," of Miramichie, from
Bridgewater, lumber laden, bound to St. John's;
both vessels sustained some trifling damage.
Brigantine " Lady Bird," Captain Hpdgson,
from Antigua, reports on 21st inst., about 35 miles
off Cape Race, passed a steamer steering N.E,
with lose of mainmast; in lat. 52.19.- Ion. 52.49,
signalled the BteamBhip " Pawnee," bound East.
Brgtn. " Spark," Capt. Norris, from Liverpool,
reports, on 6th inst., in latitude 50.30, longitude
16.20, W., spoke the Barque "Sagona," from
Richibucto, bound to Liverpool, 17 days out; on
