Introduction
The StFX Digital Collections provide access to a rich cache of primary and secondary research
resources in the St. Francis Xavier University library. It includes documents that encompass
descriptions & histories, both past and present, of St. Francis Xavier University, the local
communities and the region.
In the spring of 2007 the Angus L. Macdonald Library established the Library Digitization Lab to
digitize books, documents, manuscripts, photographs, audio and video. With the goal of creating
an extensive research collection, we are currently digitizing StFX publications, local histories,
church and parish histories relevant to our region, and publications and manuscripts from our Archives,
Rare Books and Fr. Brewer Celtic Collection, in both English and Gaelic. We have also been actively
digitizing locally produced Gaelic audio tapes.
St. Francis Xavier University, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, is a leading national university with a
longstanding tradition of academic excellence, service to society and innovation in teaching.
