Abstract	This text is a description of the British constitution at the time of the American War of Independence. Chapters discuss the history of British colonies in North America, American and British regulation of commerce, the independence of the Thirteen States of America, the naming of government in America, and the establishment of a courts system. Some information on the situation of blacks living in America during this time is also included. One section includes descriptions of the orders from the King regarding trade with the new American State.
