| Abstract | This book is a guide to the gold fields of Nova Scotia. It contains a brief history of Nova Scotia, and the early discovery of gold in areas such as Tangier Harbor, Lawrencetown, Oldham, Wagamatcoock, and Uniacke. It also contains lists of surveyed and proclaimed districts, along with unsurveyed and unproclaimed districts. Other chapters deal with the importance of foreign support in the mining of gold, as well as statistics on the gross yield and average yield of gold. An appendix that portrays the statistical chart for 1860-1866, and a list of organised companies, is also included. |
