| Abstract | This book documents the revolutions in the former Spanish colonies in South America during the early 19th century, and the histories of Mexico, Peru, and Columbia. The discovery of the Americas by Columbus, and the expeditions of Cortez and Montezuma in Mexico are examined, as well as the uprisings that followed. There is information on the actions of Pizarro and Gonsalo Gasca in Peru, including the mistreatment of the native populations, and a history of the revolution in Peru. Columbia is also discussed in some detail, including a history of the country, its culture, and the revolution of the Columbian people in the early 19th century. |
