An abridgement of the History of New-England, for the use of young persons : now introduced into the principal schools in this town
This book is a history of the New England States from the year 1600 until 1775. It includes the discovery of America by Columbus, as well as information on the Indian tribes the settlers encountered upon reaching New England. Chapters include information on the war between the French nation and the British colonies, as well as discussion of the American War of Independence, including descriptions of several battles.
An Arctic boat journey, in the autumn of 1854
This text is an account of the author's voyage to the Arctic in the mid-19th century. Chapters describe his departure from New York, moving along the ice-foot and encountering trouble in finding fresh water, sledging across the ice flows, and the loss of supplies. It also describes life among the Esquimeaux Indians, the construction of an Esquimeaux hut, and the Esquimeaux customs and religion. A number of maps and illustrations can be found within this text.
An atlas of modern geography
This is a book of maps portraying countries in Europe, North America, and Africa. Some examples of countries portrayed are France, Germany, Prussia, Canada, the United States, and England. There is a brief note written by Mr. Butler near the end of the book.

This book is an extensive collection of information on British field sports. Included are sections on hunting, hawking, shooting, coursing, fishing, and cockfighting. Several sections of this book discuss sport in other countries as well, such as the hunting of wild animals in Africa, or field sports in Asia. There is much information on animals that are frequently hunted, and hunting tips. A number of illustrations accompany the text.

These volumes contain a collective history of Canada, including history under British and French rule, and several descriptions of the Native cultures in Canada. Many chapters deal specifically with the political and social structures of the Atlantic Provinces, including Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Areas in central Canada are discussed, and the geographical area surrounding Hudson Bay is explored at length. Other chapters contain sections on the Bermuda islands, as well as the island of Newfoundland. There are several maps and illustrations included within this text.

This book contains documentation of all military action in Canada between the years 1757 and 1760. This encompasses the Seven Years War between the French and the English, during which Fortress Louisbourg in Cape Breton was utilized. Several sections of theis book contains references to troop movements and supply lines into Cape Breton from Halifax and other areas of Canada. There is also detailed documentation of the number of brigade units active in the different areas of Canada at this time, and lists of military supplies. Other sections of the book discuss the problems the English military units faced when dealing with the Quebec militia, as well as local Indian tribes. Detailed histories of individual battles are also included. There are a number of charts and tables that denote the capabilities of both the English and French troops in Canada."

This book is an overview of the coalfields in the North of England. Sections examine the geological extent of the Northern Coalfield, fossil imprints, and probable duration of the coal supplies. The pecuniary benefits of these coalfields are also discussed at length, with charts describing the economic benefits to the areas in which they are present. A history of the coal trade, dating back to the early 18th century, is also included, as well as a description of the coal mines in Belgium.

The war between Great Britain and Spain from the years 1739 until 1748 is discussed at length in these books. Several large naval battles are described, including the Battle of Carthage as well as British involvement in the Netherlands. A brief overview of the political structures in Spain and Britain are also included. These books deal primarily with the naval undertakings of both Spain and Britain during the span of this war.
