The physical geography of Cape Breton is also described, as well as the different counties, a brief history of Louisbourg, and the local Micmac Indian tribes. A number of photographs from around the island are included.

This book contains a history of the Island of Cape Breton in Nova Scotia. Chapters include information on the geography, geology, and local populations of many areas in Cape Breton, such as Sydney, North Sydney and Glace Bay. It also contains a brief history of Cape Breton, in which the Seige of Louisbourg is discussed, as well as the relationship between the English, French, and Micmac populations in the 18th century. The Acadian settlements in Cape Breton are also examined, as well as the growth of the coal industry. Several photographs of Cape Breton in the late 19th century are included within this book.

This book is a description of the voyages of Captain James Cook, and contains some biographical information. Chapters include descriptions of his childhood, the first voyage of discovery to Tahiti, the second voyage to New Zealand, and the third voyage and Captain Cook's subsequent death. The interactions between the explorers and the native populations of the regions in which they find themselves are discussed at length, as well as some of the native tribal customs, such as cannibalism. A brief history of Polynesia is also included. A number of illustrations can be found within this text.

This book is a description of the ancient city of Carthage, as well as its history. The involvement of Carthage in the Punic Wars is widely discussed, with information on several key battles and their effects on the city. Information on the topography of the city is also included, with chapters on the city walls, important mosques, and city strongholds. Other chapters include some information on Cartheginian religion and temples devoted to foreign Dieties, as well as its economic relationships with other important city states of the time. The excavation of several Cartheginian ruins is also discussed within this text, as are archaeological finds in several nearby areas such as Utica. Several illustrations are included within this text, most portraying ruins of the city.

The section dealing with Castine in the latter half of the 19th century discusses topics such as historical places, relics, churches, and hotels. Several maps and photographs of Castine are also included in this book.

This book is an account of the celebration at the Maitland Presbyterian Church on the centennial anniversary of the ordination of the Rev. Alexander Dick. Sections include writings by other ministers, photographs of several parish ministers, and a number of examples from prayer and hymn books. The celebrations discussed in this text took place in June of 1903 in Maitland (Hants County), Nova Scotia.

These volumes are histories of the Isle of Eri, or Ireland. They present the theory that the Scythians emigrated to Ireland and later controlled much of the area. The author presents documentation of several battles and events ranging from 1100 BC to 7 BC. Several illustrated maps of the area are also included, as well as a sparse genealogy of the population of Ireland.

Chapters contain information on the natural history of the cock, the origin of game fowl, types of cocks, cross-breeds, speed and endurance in fowl, feeding and walking cocks, and setting and fighting. Caucasian, Greek, and Arabian fighting cocks are also discussed, along with the weight and size of each. Descriptions of cockfights in areas such as Canada, Australia, Rome, and Japan are all included. Many illustrations accompany the text.

It was written in response to the tuberculosis outbreaks throughout Nova Scotia during this period. This book also includes a Gaelic and MicMac translation. Several local advertisements from in and around Cape Breton are also included with this text.
